What is it about:

Menu Bar Activate workflow does exactly the same as “Move focus to the menu bar” (Default is ^F2) keyboard shortcut does when “Keyboard access is on” (Default is ^F1).

Who might like it:

  • If you prefer to use keyboard to access the application menu bar, but found it is too restrictive to setup a convenient shortcut to activate it.
  • If you like the way it is done on Windows OS when you hit Alt and have your focus moved to the application menu.

Notes:

The recommended trigger hotkey is a double tap on Option/Alt or Command keys. You can then use arrows, Tab and letter keys to navigate the menu bar.

Installation:

Add Alfred into the Accessibility application list under System Preferences - Security & Privacy - Privacy tab.
