I'm very busy. Too often, at work I get a chat that just says "Hi Ben" or "Are you there?" when really I'd prefer people just ask me what they need. This helps me quickly reply "Hi {name}, how can I help you?" which ensures I don't waste time yet I remain polite.

I'd make a snippet for this, but sometimes I want to make it a little more personal, and add the name of the person.

hi Bob = "Hi Bob, how can I help you?"

Sometimes I really don't care that I reply with their name.

hi! = "Hello! How can I help you?"
